We recognized that boys and girls in the community hardly take part in informal settings in the afternoon. Due to financial difficulties and a great burden on the parents, very few of the children are enrolled in classes or take part in youth movements.
Last year we opened a youth group for the first time for children aged 10-13 (grades 5-7).
The group met once a week in the afternoon for a relaxing and enriching activity, and of course a game of soccer. At the same time, content on topics such as identity, self-confidence and leadership development were transferred.
The group and its guides even went on a day trip to the Ben Gurion Midrash and visited the Ben Gurion Tomb and the Negev Preparatory School.
