Exhaustion of rights

The Israeli government’s refusal over the years to examine the asylum applications of asylum seekers from Eritrea and Sudan who have been in Israel for over a decade and to recognize them as refugees leads to this community living in Israel without basic rights and with very limited access to social assistance.

The reception of the audience on the subject of rights exploitation, which is held at the Refugee Center in the Negev once a week, deals with appeals concerning many areas including: health (physical and mental), welfare, education, labor rights, humanitarian aid and more.

Intern program in social work

Women social work students from Sapir College work as part of the rights extraction team at the center. As part of the internship, each student is individually accompanied by applicants who need closer accompaniment.
